Tim
Johnson's career in the security and investigative field began in 1972
as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations
after 13 years as a radio and electronic equipment maintenance technician.
He received additional training by the AFOSI, CIA and FBI in electronic
countermeasures (debugging), investigative support (bugging), photography,
locks and alarms and barrier and physical defense.
In his final assignment with AFOSI as a Division Chief, he provided electronic
countermeasures (ECM) and investigative support for criminal and counter
espionage investigations at locations in 8 Southern states, working with
the FBI, local and state agencies and assisted in several worldwide Air
Force criminal and counter intelligence investigations.
After retiring from the Air Force in September1981, he worked at NASA,
Johnson Space Center as a Physical Security Specialist, further developing
the ECM program supporting classified Space Shuttle missions.
In 1983, he assisted in establishing the ECM program for the Department
of Energy, Washington, DC. This expanded to include support to Naval nuclear
research facilities and other nuclear related activities, closed sessions
of Congress in energy related hearings and response and technical support
to foreign locations in which bugging activities had been discovered.
He moved to the Phoenix area in 1985 and formally established Technical
Security Consultants Inc. in April 1986, after being "downsized"
from Winkelmann Countermeasures Inc.
He now resides in Carrollton, Georgia (Atlanta area) from which location
he has continued to support major corporations and government contractors
with specialized security assistance.
Tim has operated as a Special Investigator with the Department of Justice
(FBI BICS) since approximately 1990, as a Contract Investigator with MSM
Security Services, LLC (conducting investigations for the Department of
Defense, Department of the Treasury and Homeland Security) since approximately
1989 and as a Contract Investigator with ManTech MSM Security Services
from 2003 to 2007.
